Nigeria’s most popular automaker, Innoson Motors, recently took everyone by surprise after it won the “2020 Car Maker of the Year” Award. The indigenous automaker was able to win this award by surviving 7 days of voting before finally moving on to defeat five other strong nominees including Peugeot, Kia, Hyundai and Nissan.

Several media outlets have confirmed that Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Motors, bagged this year’s Leadership Excellence Awards from Igbere TV. This wonderful news also translates to mean that his automobile manufacturing company is the "Car Maker of the Year 2020". Some of the top nominees that competed with Innoson Motors for this prestigious award include:
