The stationary truck was said to be carrying diesel fuel when the gas-laden truck rammed into it. This is the reason why the accident led to a massive explosion that caused such a terrifying fire outbreak.

Governor Okowa of Delta State has called on the right agencies to investigate the “cause” of the recent gas tanker explosion incident. The governor made this call during his visit to the scene where this terrifying incident occurred. Governor Okowa sympathized with residents that lost their properties to the fire outbreak from the tanker explosion. He further promised them that his government will take some necessary steps to lessen the burden of their losses. Several media sources confirmed that more than 20 houses were gutted by the inferno from the tanker explosion.
