Two people have been confirmed dead in a long chain of fatal road crashes involving four cars last Wednesday on Interstate 95, beside Christiana in the United States. The details of this tragic incident were revealed by the Delaware State Police.
The multiple crashes that took place around Christiana claimed two lives last Wednesday
From what we learnt, the victims were trying to offer assistance to a driver who crashed on the interstate after losing control of his car. Unfortunately, the situation became worse, leading to several crashes, covering the northbound and southbound lanes of the I-95.
The road accident, according to the police’s report, happened around 10:40 pm, when a 22-year-old man was driving his 2000 Honda Civic northbound on the left centre lane of the I-95, which is north of the Churchman’s Road overpass.
A car that ended up avoiding the crash party caused the problem when it suddenly joined the left centre lane from the right centre lane, making the driver of this Honda Civic plough into the concrete barrier after losing control of his car.
The deceased was reportedly trying to offer assistance to the driver that crashed on the I-95 lane

While all these were going on, one 29-year-old man from the North East of Maryland, pulled over to check on the condition of the Honda Civic driver. A 20-year-old Kia Stinger driver from Wilmington swerved his car to avoid crashing to the Civic but ended up hitting the 29-year-old man that was trying to help the other driver.
The hit was so severe that the 29-year-old North-eastern man landed in the left southbound of the I-95 lane, where he was also hit by a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The Camaro was reportedly driven by a young Newark resident. The 29-year-old man died instantly on the spot.
The crash was caused by a car that merged the two lanes, causing the other driver to lose control of his car
Due to the long chain of crashes from this singular incident, the Kia Stinger ended up hitting another car, a 2018 Ford Focus driven by a woman (age 25) from Delmar, who slowed down to offer help to the disabled motorist. The Ford Focus crashed into the concrete barrier after it was hit at the back by the Kia Stinger.
Unfortunately for the Focus driver, she didn’t survive the crash as she was pronounced dead by the doctor at the hospital where she was rushed to. The occupants of the Honda Civic didn’t suffer any injury while the Kia Stinger’s occupants were inflicted with minor injuries and are currently in the hospital receiving treatment. The Delaware police are withholding the names of those involved until they are able to contact their next of kin. The cause of these multiple crashes is currently under investigation.
