From the latest report getting to us, a minimum of twelve people lost their lives while twenty-five were inflicted with varying degrees of injuries in a recent ghastly road accident that happened along kilometre 26 Kaduna-Abuja Expressway last Wednesday on the 24th of December, 2020.

According to report, the unfortunate road incident that took place in the morning was said to be caused by the truck driver who lost control of the trailer due to overspeeding and reckless driving.
Samuel Aruwa, who happens to be the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, while commenting on the tragic event revealed that the information was disbursed by the security agencies to the state government.

Aruwa, who went on patrol with other members of the enforcement team, stated that the 25 injured travellers are currently at an undisclosed hospital, where they are getting medical attention while unspecified livestock perished in the road accident.

The commissioner while quoting Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who is the governor of Kaduna State, commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. The governor expressed his sadness considering the timing of the accident and sent his best wishes to those injured from the crash.
According to him, the Governor has cautioned motorists plying the highway to refrain from excessive speeding, reckless driving, driving against the direction of traffic and overloading.

Aruwa, while delivering the governor’s message, urged travellers to adhere to the prohibition placed on driving against the flow of traffic as iterated by the government a week ago in the state.
From what he said, they had to use a crane to retrieve bodies of 2 victims which had been trapped and mutilated underneath the truck. He stated that the security agencies were able to successfully clear the scene of the accident to ensure the free flow of traffic.
