From a new traffic report getting to us, 10 people lost their lives in an unfortunate single-car accident that took place on Sallah Day on the Ilorin-Jebba Expressway.
10 people died in a ghastly road accident on Sallah Day in Kwara
According to reports, the crash involved an 18-seater commercial Toyota Hiace bus at Yemoja, in Olooru-Oko Olowo, in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State. From what we learnt, the road accident that happened around 4 pm was caused by alleged speed violation.
Jonathan Owoade, who happens to be Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kwara State, while confirming this tragic incident, revealed that the crash claimed many lives and also inflicted varying degrees of injuries on several other passengers.
Owoade revealed that the Hiace with the registration number LND 742 XK was the only vehicle involved in this accident. He added that those inflicted with injuries were rushed to a private hospital, Ayo Hospital, and the General Hospital in Ilorin, the state capital, for treatment.

The Sector Commander, while commending the policemen for supporting their agency during the accident, stated that the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the General hospital. He, however, urged motorists against speeding, by being mindful of other road users and adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
