10 cars that run on other brand engines

The models listed below are the ones which have the name of a car maker but is equipped with the engine of another car brand inside.

That 2 different car makers shake hands to produce a single model wearing a car brand's name but taking other car brand’s engine is not something rare in the automotive world especially as the two brands belong to the same mother company.

But there are also models that are made by a collaboration between different car brands from different mother companies. The models listed below are the ones which have the name of a car maker but is equipped with the engine of another car brand inside. Check out:

1. BMW 116i (F20)- PSA

BMW and PSA formed a partnership to bring in a 1.6L (EP6) and 1.4L (EP3 engines which were used for some cars of the PSA Group, Minis and BMW 1 Series and 3 Series.

2. Mercedes-Benz A-Class- Renault’s engine

This diesel Mercedes-Benz gets power from a 1.5L dCi Renault engine to put out 114bhp and accelerate from rest to 62 mph in 10.5s.

3. Toyota GT86 - Subaru

Subaru equips its BRZ model with a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine which was later borrowed for the Toyota GT86.

4. Lamborghini Huracan Performante - Audi

5. Lotus Evora - Toyota

The V6 engine in the Lotus Evora GT430 was developed by Toyota. This engine can produce up to 436 HP.

9. Pagani Huayra- Mercedes-Benz AMG

With its collaboration with the German car brand, Pagani borrowed the 6L bi-turbo M158 V12 engine to adorn its Huayra models. With this engine on, the Huayra coupe gets an output of 720 HP, the Huayra roadster 720 HP, and BC 745 HP.

10. Alfa Romeo Giulia QV- Ferrari
