The work on W202 C Class to replace 190 (W201) had already begun since 1986. It was not until 1990 that the design got its patent and 3 years later, the first models were launched for sale.
W202 was made in two body styles: a 4-door sedan and a 5-door wagon. Their outlook both resembled styling features of W124 E-Class, W140 S-Class and R129 SL-Class.
1.2. W203 in 2000
Unlike its predecessor, W203 C Class came with 3 options: 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. The sedan was the first to be introduced with an inline-four V6 engine, running either on petrol or diesel. Diesel variants apply common rail direct fuel injection as well as variable geometry turbochargers.
In 2002, a 4Matic version was made available when buying W203. Another interesting fact is when being facelifted, W203 became the Mercedes Benz CLC-Class, produced till 2011.
W203 when facelifted will turn into a CLC Class model
1.3. W204 in 2007
Overall, W204 had similar automobile layouts and styles with W203. However, some modifications could be seen from the outside, like extended wheelbase or a stiffer bodyshell (influenced by W221 S-Class and C219 CLS-Class)
1.4. W205 in 2014
W205 was rolled out at Detroit Auto Show 2014, being the first car to employ MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform. This means the total car weight is greatly reduced, 100 kg to be more exact.
Besides three available styles as in W203 and W204, this model can be obtained in the form of a 2-door convertible (or Carbiolet) as well.

James Ward on Caradvice.com, review on C300 Coupe 2016
The white bodywork with the black glass roof and chrome trim highlights really showcased our C300 long-termer to its full potential. In terms of specifications, I can say with confidence that if I was to buy a C300 this is EXACTLY how I would option it...Strangely, the C-Coupe is a tardis of load carrying. It is so big that I lost the dog in there and had to send in a search party.
The suspension has a very odd feeling going over certain bumps, whereby the wheels feel detached from the chassis – which sends a huge jolt throughout the cabin. The gearbox too, takes a while to drop down gears and get going.
Trent Nikolic on Caradvice.com, review on C300 BlueTEC Hybrid
The hybrid sedan is therefore a genuine performance surprise. The hybrid system is set up in such a way that the electric motor works to assist the diesel engine but can also operate in stand-alone mode. The transition between either assisting or working solo is so smooth you’d be hard pressed to pick it. Driving the hybrid feels almost no different to driving any other conventional C-Class, which is both surprising and impressive.
Julia J., on Consumerreports.org review on Benz C-Class C43 AMG 3.0L V6-turbo
There is a whistling noise coming from the front air defector when going over 45mph with the rear deflector raised. The dealer has ordered a replacement deflector which will be installed next week.

Andy on Edmunds.com, review on C300 2dr convertible:
It is gorgeous, stunning, thumbs up.... An admirer said “It is so sexy”... nothing not to like. It is overall a very good car, but, base engine can’t get out of its own way, must leave the transmission in Sport Plus just to be safe. My previous 2014 E350 gets the same mpg ... very sad.... The 9 speed transmission is as graceful as a bull in a china shop... not smooth at all. Shifts hard. The rest of the car is all Mercedes. The quality of fit and finish is impeccable. The interior is a work of art. The lines, slopes contours are so attractive. The car really is incredible in that Mercedes way....
Above are the latest Mercedes Benz C300 price in Nigeria and some comments on the car performance. Overall, C300, along with other Mercedes Benz models, never fails to satisfy aesthetic expectations, but its operation, admittedly, remains limited in some cases. Hopefully, the automaker is working hard to improve their quality day by day so that consumers can have better and better experiences.
