1. Ups and downs in the history of Lamborghini

About to scroll down? Before checking its price list, is it just nice to get to know something about this famed luxury sports car brand? Lamborghini prices in Nigeria is here to stay, it won’t disappear within a few minutes while you’re reading its history.

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A is the full name of this automotive company of Italy. It was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963 with the view to producing grand touring cars, directly competing with Ferrari at that time.

Lamborghini makes luxury sports cars/ SUVs placed under its name and a variety of tractors with the brand Lamborghini Trattori.

Before joining Audi to become a part of Volkswagen Group, Lamborghini has gone through notable ups and downs, involving bankruptcy once and changing ownerships up to 4 times during its 55-year existence.

Lamborghini has tasted both joys and sorrows in the vehicle industry

The story began when Italian manufacturing magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini founded this company to race with such established marques as Ferrari. Its first steps seemed smooth when 350 GT, then Miura sports coupe was released. The rear mid-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout of Miura was soon recognized as standard design for high-performance automobiles at that moment.

Thanks to this trademark, Lamborghini sales witnessed steady growth till 1973 when worldwide financial downturn and oil crisis happened. To survive this rough time, Lamborghini was sold to Georges-Henri Rossetti and Rene Leimer. However, the situation did not look better as after just 5 years, the company was announced bankrupt and one more time changed its ownership to the Mimrans.

Under the management of the Mimrans, Lambo produced more cars, some of which were quite popular till date, like Countach, Jalpa sports cars or LM002 SUVs.

Despite the expansion in the product line, the Mimrans decided to sell Lamborghini to Chrysler who replaced Countach with Diablo and discontinue some other models. Chrysler then sold it to both Malaysian and Indonesian business groups in 1994. It was not until 1998 that these two corporations sold Lamborghini to the Volkswagen Group. It was then placed under Audi division.

2. Lamborghini prices in Nigeria – How luxury is it?

Lamborghini luxury vehicles are long associated with one of the most wanted brands on Earth with innovative bodywork and impressive performances on road. Several flamboyant models from this world renowned automaker are two-seat sports car Aventador using V12 engine, V10-powered Huracan and the latest SUV – Urus with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, adopting front engine & all-wheel-drive layout.

Another aspect that makes Lamborghini more famous is its involvement in Formula One business. This company supplied engine components for numerous racing teams during 1989-1993 seasons. Actually, Lamborghini engineers namely Dallara or Bob Wallace used to dream of designing a racing beast to showcase its speed and technical superiority but Ferruccio insisted on a road car with racing potentials. Those products can attract handsome profits but they would never join an auto racing contest.

Lamborghini also produces sports motorcycles with the brand of Ducati. No matter what subsidiary it is, Lamborghini branches all rock the market with state-of-the-art beauty.

With such hi-class orientation, how much is a Lamborghini?

Can we, with an average income, touch its steering wheel one day? The answer depends on which model you opt for and how many years you’ve saved for your budget.

Below is the Lamborghini price list in naira for your reference, collected by I must say these numbers are converted from retail suggested prices from the manufacturer itself, not the specific tags for Nigerian market. You may need to consider the changes in currency exchange rate, customs clearance and related fees in delivering those products to your own place.

Also, as these are super luxury vehicles, hardly could you find a Lamborghini unit on marketplaces offering cars for sale in Nigeria. Foreign used Gallardos have, surprisingly, been seen on some online buying platforms, but its price might be ten times higher than some new models.

3. Final answer

Call it a day, Lamborghini price range is generally far beyond our financial ability. Though the cheapest model makes it "just" over N40 million, the actual payment to have it delivered to your house may multiply several times. However, you can always refer to used Lambo for much more lower price tags, but be sure what you need is a fancy auto, not a practical transport!
