The International Pick up Award (IPUA) competition is held one time every two or three years and the winners are selected by the jury members of the International Van of the Year (IVotY). All of them are famous trade journalists who come from 25 countries. Based on defined criteria, nominated models will be judged by the sixteen-member jury.
In 2010, the Volkswagen Amarok was granted the ultimate accolade from the IVoty jury. Adding to Volkwagen’s reward listing, the second generation Amarok won the 2018 IPUA, making it the only model to receive the award twice.

What’s more, the members of the IVotY jury decided to choose 2017 Volkswagen Amarok as the winner of the competition, citing its clear design, workmanship and fantastic feel. The double cab can house five people, featuring unique 8-speed automatic gearbox and 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine ranging from 120 KW to 190 KW.

Up to October, VW Commercial has sold 65,200 units of the 2017 Amarok V6 range, increasing 13.2 percent when compared with 57,600 units sold out in 2017.
Chairman of the Brand Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Dr Eckhard Scholz said in his statement that they were very grateful and honoured when receiving the 2018 International Pick up Award. The Volkswagen Amarok 2017 not only is luxurious in design but also meets customer’s demands for grand power and torque.
