The Women's World Car of the Year Awards is a unique award which is exclusively voted by women across the world. The female judges will select the winner of each category in the competition once a year. Besides, the vehicles considered for awards have to be sold on at least two continents and in five countries before January 1st .
The 2017 Women's World Car of the Year is the eighth edition of the prestigious award which was selected by a panel of 25 female motoring journalists from twenty countries. There are 420 vehicles were considered as potential contenders for numerous titles of six categories such as luxury, family, performance, SUV, green and budget vehicles.

According to the latest car news, the 2017 Women’s SUV vehicle award has been announced and the Peugeot 3008 was the winner in the SUV category. This is the 35th title awarded to the luxury SUV.
According to Sandy Myhre, Managing Director of Women’s World Car of the Year, the next generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit won the Peugeot 3008 the award thanks to not only its elegant exterior and interior design but also the driving pleasure and road-holding.
The other winners of the competition were also announced including Hyundai Ioniq (the Supreme Winner), McLaren 720S, Ford Fiesta, Honda Civic Type R, BMW 5-Series and Mazda CX-5.
The Peugeot 3008 was the winner in SUV category
Managing Director of Peugeot Citroën South Africa, Francisco Gaie said the Peugeot 3008 (2017) SUV has received a lot of ultimate accolades in the world. The car was nominated as a finalist for the 2018 WesBank South African Car of the Year (COTY) and Cars.co.za Consumer Awards competition which will be revealed in early 2018.
The 2017 Peugeot 3008 was rewarded because of modern features, extraordinary quality, and especially affordable price. Moreover, it also comes with the refined drive, modern specification, fuel efficiency and premium interior which make the Peugeot 3008 become the best model in its class.

Francisco said that they were honoured that all female judges had recognized the Peugeot 3008 as the winner of the 2017 Women's World Car of the Year and hoped that the car would succeed in the South Africa.
