Jaguar I-Pace wins World Car of the Year prize at the 2019 New York Auto Show

The Jaguar I-Pace, which is an all-electric SUV, has just won the World Car of the Year award at the New York International Auto Show in 2019 against rivalry from other two finalists such as Volvo S60/V60 and Audi E-Tron.

This is the second time the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) would win the “World Car of the Year” award after the 2017 win by Jaguar F-Pace for the World Car Design of the Year in 2017.

Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover said:

For I-PACE to be awarded 2019 World Car of the Year gives our first all-electric vehicle the ultimate recognition it deserves,

I would like to thank the teams who have created I-PACE for their passion in making it so outstanding.”


Jaguar I-Pace can go as far as 234 miles after a single charge

This award winning Jaguar I-Pace model has collected many awards since its debut in 2018. One of those awards was the European Car of the Year Award in March.

Vehicles were picked and voted on this year 2019 by international jury panel that consisted of 86 top-shot automotive journalists from more than twenty countries across the globe.

Additionally, Audi A7 scooped the award for World Luxury Car of the Year while the 710 horse-powered McLaren 720S emerged as the winner of World Performance Car award. Suzuki Jimny SUV won the World Urban car award while the World Green prize and the Design of the Year award was won by the pure electrified Jaguar I-Pace.


Volvo S60/V60 and Audi E-Tron weren't competitions after all for this I-Pace at the New York Auto Show
