The past is not always such as bad thing to be left and forgotten. If it was good, it is okay to relieve it. Top automaker Hyundai is taking a trip back to 45 years ago when it debuted on the scene with its first production car. The result of this reminiscing is the new Hyundai 45 Concept.
Hyundai 45 Concept was designed from the 1974 Pony concept
Audiences at the on-going 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany got to see the all-electric Concept 45 which the automaker says is setting the pace for all-electric C-UVs in the future.
The model mirrored by the 45 is the Pony produced back in 1974, beautifully designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. If you are familiar with the Pony, you will definitely see its reflection in the Concept 45. This is not a coincidence but a deliberate effort by Hyundai in celebration of its heritage. This was confirmed by the automaker’s chief designer, Sangyup Lee, who disclosed that typology of the 45 was derived from the concept of 1974 which was pure and simple.
Speaking further, Lee said that the 45 was chartering a new course for the company, According to him, Hyundai is now positioned to compete equally with other automakers in the electric niche.

The 1974 Pony which the Concept 45 takes after in design
Interior of the 45 has a minimalist design more than the exterior. It boasts of a center console for dispensing. Inside, you will find a good combination of leather, wood and fabric. Its fine-looking dashboard showcases a sleek screen that has both infotainment and instruments that can be operated by users through a projected beam interface.
The interior is spacious, it feels like a mini-living room
The interior design features of the 45 gravitate towards the autonomous car niche. With adequate space in flat floor and width, it feels like a mini-living room for occupants to relax. Its effective battery pack discharges cooling and under floor heating.

The dashboard offers a sleek screen for infotainment
Expectedly, the 45 does not disappoint in technology. Its advanced camera monitoring enhances self-driving applications. Instead of having side mirrors, it offers cameras that give the driver full view of their environment. Indeed, driving the 45 will be a delight.
