Ford’s Driving Skills for Life training to Riders for Health Nigeria organized

The program took place on November 17th 2017 in Lekki.

According to the latest car news, Ford Motor Company cooperated with Coscharis - a dealer of the brand in organizing a training program named Ford’s Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) to Riders for Health Nigeria (Riders)’s members. The event was organized  2 days ago at the head office of Coscharis Motors located in Lekki.

Organized worldwide, the DSFL is targeted at enhancing knowledge on safety on the road and providing useful tips for their safe driving.

Ford Motor Company cooperated with Coscharis in organizing Ford’s Driving Skills for Life (DSFL)

Trainees were provided with deep knowledge about brake distance on gravel, the angle of departure, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and how to use other functions on 4-wheel drive models including locking differential, hill control and traction control. 2 models used during the training were the Ford Ranger and Ford Figo.

Mr. Abiona Babarinde, Coscharis Motors’ General Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications stated that the two sides were very happy to bring drivers this proven tool for safe driving in the DSFL program and also stepped up their efforts in enhancing road safety. He also believed that with useful skills and knowledge the training program has provided, Ford and Coscharis Motors can continue to enhance safe driving knowledge for Nigerian.

Riders is a global organization that works towards the goal of improving the efficiency and capacity of health care delivery systems in Africa by making sure that their workers of healthcare have constant access to dependable transportation, particularly to communities in border and rural areas.

Mr. Ajayi Kayode, Riders for Health Nigeria’s Country Director expressed his pleasure as his organization became a part of the training program. He believed that the DSFL would provide their members with education on driving techniques, road safety, and accident maneuvers and prevention for both off-road and on-road driving. He added that road safety of health workers who supply necessary medication to rural communities in the country was very important.

At the beginning of the year, Ford provided Riders in Nigeria with 2 Ford Ranger as a part of its Project Better World. These cars supported Riders to bring medical professionals and provisions to rural communities and also assist the Riders’ Motorcycle Team to provide better healthcare to the communities.

More than 70 units of Ford were used by Riders for Health, serving 6 African countries including Nigeria, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and the Gambia.
