Rolls Royce is 115! Yaaayy! As the definition of luxury automaker marks their 115th birthday, they are doing it in style, and of course it is auto related. Part of the centennial plus fifteen anniversary celebrations will include the auctioning of a unique 2020 Rolls-Royce Phantom. The arrangements will be overseen by Canadian firm RM Sotheby’s later in the year, in the New York.
This information was revealed during a five-course dinner and anniversary celebration that was held at RM Sotheby’s 90,000-plus-square-foot New York City headquarters. Rolls Royce’s reps were also present at the event.
Neither Rolls Royce nor Sotheby's have released further details about the auction of the Phantom
The ultimate posh cars manufacturer’s 115th birthday should realistically fall on May 4th. Tracing back historically, it is a matter of public record that on the 4th of May 1904, Henry Royce and Charles Rolls met at a hotel in Manchester to form the present auto company, Rolls Royce since then has consistently topped global charts of super-luxury sedans wit automobile models such as the Ghost, the Corniche, the Wraith, the Dawn, and the popular Phantom.

Happy 115th RR! As usual Rolls Royce does it with style, including auctioning the one-time-only Phantom
“The eighth-generation Phantom will carry the longest running name in luxury motoring into a new era. Built on the ‘architecture of luxury,’ this new Phantom commission offers one special owner the chance to enjoy a motor car that is bound to be a classic over the next 115 years.” The CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor, Martin Fritsches who made the above statement, then added that Roll-Royce motor cars have a long history of marking paths at RM Sotheby’s.
Rolls-Royce is known for making stylish and luxurious car interiors, so even with the scant information provided one expects the interior of the car to be nothing less than spectacular. Also designed to celebrate their important milestone, this car will certainly have lots of engravings, special 115-based garnishes, and badges.
Rolls-Royce concluded that the 2020 Rolls-Royce Phantom will be auctioned on Sotheby's website this fall but no expected or minimum price has been given so far. Judging from the previous Rolls-Royce Phantom which cost half a million dollars, don't be shocked if this special car brings in a cool million.
