1. Toyota Avalon

This one is within the family and is definitely an inside trouble for the Camry, it knows all her secrets and is giving her a real run for the money. The Avalon is a much more plush option to the Camry offering better overall performance except for the Camry’s superior fuel economy numbers. Comparing the base trims of both sedans, the Avalon’s XLE trim offered a lower EPA fuel economy rating standing at 22/32 mpg (city/highway) while the Camry’s L trim delivered about 29/41 mpg (city/highway).

The Camry is also a lot cheaper than the Avalon which goes for a good N4.2 million more than the Camry. The Camry has a manufacturer stated retail price MSRP of N8.7 million while the Avalon cost about N12.9 million.

More so, the Avalon offers better performance in terms of power, torque and acceleration. This extra performance capability can be easily linked to the engine utilized in both cars. For instance the Camry comes with a 2.5 Liter I-4 cylinder engine which offers a lower 203 hp power output and 184 lb-ft torque in comparison with the Avalon’s 3.5 Liter V6 engine that delivers 301 hp and torque of 267 lb-ft.
