But we also know that these cars are very expensive, in fact, most of us would rather buy houses with the money than use it to buy a Tesla. These models cost a ton of money, which is the major discouragement for people who wouldn’t mind owning an electric car. However, what most people don’t know is that there are other electric cars out there that are cheaper and more affordable than the Tesla models that they know. This BMW model is an electric car that is very easy and convenient to drive with its one pedal, has a nature that’s fun to drive and an acceleration that comes off as zippy. You could say that this is the most affordable and reasonably priced electric cars.

2018 BMW i3 runs with a horsepower of 170 and can also be upgraded to 181 horsepower. However, it has one of the lowest rankings amongst the ranges of electric cars. It allows you to be able to add on a gasoline engine that extends the range but then, is it still an electric car if you do that? Absolutely not. It comes with a USB port, a navigation system, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, HD radio, rear view canoes, a satellite radio and a 6.5-inch touchscreen for controls.

4. 2018 Honda Clarity (N12.4 million)

This electric car features an 8-inch touchscreen system, a USB port, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android auto connectivity. It has a very efficient powertrain and has a luxurious interior but it has been said to lack agility and its stereo, which is complicated to operate really stops it from being the best choice for many people.

The 2018 Honda Clarity has a range of 89 miles and its electric powertrain provides it with 161hp. It also has a push to start button, a keyless entry and a two-zone automatic climate control standard.

3. 2019 Fiat 500E (N11.9 million)

This is a very good electric vehicles for people living in the cities because it is very portable and can fit easily into small parking lots. However, its disadvantage is that it has an 84-mile range and takes up to 4 hours to get full charged. Its standard features are a rear view camera, Bluetooth, a 5-inch touchscreen and a FCA’s Uconnect infotainment system. The 2019 Fiat 500E also has a 7-inch touchscreen option that can be used instead of the 5-inch standard.

2. Nissan Leaf EV, 2018 model (N10.9 million)

The 2018 Nissan Leaf is installed a 146 hp electric motor and can cover 151 miles on one charge. Although, it can’t travel as much as it’s more expensive competitors, it’s a great distance at its price. Its standard features include a satellite radio, a 5-inch colored display and a Bluetooth connection. With a bit added cost, it also comes along with navigation, Apple CarPlay, ProPilot Assist, which helps the Leaf drive itself for a short period of time, even in traffic, and Android Auto connectivity.

1. 2018 Ford Focus Electric (N10.5 million)

Ford’s focus, starting at N10million as its cheapest electric car option, has been armed with a long list of trim and plants options. It currently has the 184 lb-ft torque 107 kW electric motor as its newest power plant option. This gives people a green option for the lowest prices. It is actually one of the cheapest electric vehicles on the market. It can drive at a range of 115 miles and can accommodate up to 5 passengers at a time.
