As expensive as the model is, and despite the fact that it is seen as a flagship model of the renowned German car maker BMW, it is reported with quite a lot of issues by consumer across the world. The 2002 and 2003 models even have so many issues that BMW had to make a recall for quite some models, and customers in some regions could have an extended warranty period of 7 years/100,000 miles instead of 4 years/50,000miles, given how faulty their purchases were. The BMW 7 series is ranked in categories of Transmission major, Transmission minor, Engine major faults and Engine minor faults.

19. BMW x-5 (6-Cylinder)

12. V6 4WD Ford Explorer
Consumer Reports complains that the Explorer’s V6 powertrain is too noisy, not to mention the poor quality fit and finish which wasn't much improved with the 2006 redesign. Lack of agility and stiff ride are other issues found in the Ford Explorer V6. Not until the introduction of the 2011 model, the Explorer improved its riding comfort thanks to the Flex’s platform but the older models are criticized for Drive System, Suspension, Transmission Major, Transmission Minor, Audio System issues, Body Hardware, Squeaks and Rattles, and Paint and Trim.
